Prosecutors say Davis repeatedly beat and stabbed 23-year-old Fatme “Stella” Davis in front of the couple’s child, who was waiting in her car. The child, a 1-year-old boy named Elliot, was unharmed and is currently in the care of his paternal grandmother.

Fatme was rushed to a local hospital but later died from her injuries.

Arrest and Court Proceedings

Davis was arrested later in Armada Township. He was arraigned Wednesday, September 24, at 41A District Court, where a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. Judge denied him bond.

“The allegations in this case are both shocking and deeply disturbing,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido in a statement. “A young mother was allegedly killed at the hands of her estranged husband, while their child sat waiting in the car. Our office is committed to pursuing this case to the fullest extent of the law to ensure justice is served.”

A probable cause conference is scheduled for October 7 at 1 p.m., followed by a preliminary exam on October 14 at 1 p.m.

Remembering Stella

Known to loved ones as Stella, Fatme Davis is remembered as a resilient and devoted mother who dedicated her life to her son, Elliot.

“She was a strong-willed woman who carried herself with quiet resilience through life’s many challenges,” her family said. “Even while fighting battles most never knew about, she was the first to show up for others—offering love, laughter, and support whenever someone needed it. Her world revolved around Elliot, and the bond they shared was unbreakable.”

Stella’s death has left her family, friends, and community devastated, with many mourning the loss of a daughter, sister, friend, and mother taken too soon.
